Rendering

We are able to offer our customers a wide range of choice when it comes to rendering the exterior of your home or property, please find below or range of finishes we offer with a brief description.

  • Sand and cement (smooth finish)
  • This is a traditional sand and cement mortar coat system which is applied in two stages, firstly a scratch coat is applied in order to provide the top coat with a flat well keyed surface and then once dried the second finishing coat is applied and finished to the desired effect.

  • Tyrolean
  • WBS Tyrolean is a cementitious cement based render incorporating silicone technology. Applied using a hand operated or open-hopper spraying machine, the unique ‘honeycomb’ texture is built up using several strokes from different angles until a finished thickness of 4mm – 6mm is achieved.

The substrate must possess suction capabilites for the tyrolean finish to achieve the desired effect and is hardwearing & weatherproof.

  • Roughcast
  • Like Tyrolean rough cast is a textured render finish but with using more traditional materials sand, cement and dust. It is applied in 3 coats, firstly a scratch coat, secondly a smooth coat and finally the third textured coat. Rough cast is very hard wearing therefore highly suitable for coastal, suburban and rural environments.

  • K Rend
  • K-rend is a silicone range which incorporates silicone water repellents as an integral part of the cement based render system. The silicone technology imparts a high degree of water repellence to the render surface whilst allowing water vapour to pass through the render and let the substrate breath.

  • Travertino romano
  • TRAVERTINO ROMANO by OIKOS is a special decorative coating, for interiors and exteriors. The product, which is ready to use, is based on sand, selected marble powders and matured lime putty and presents itself as a homogeneous paste that is easy to apply and through the correct technique, allows the realisation of a stone effect that highlights the veins and texture of natural stone.

One of the main characteristics of the product is that of bonding with the surface in such a way as to create a single body. TRAVERTINO ROMANO prevents the development of mould, algae and bacteria. It has a low odour level, is non inflammable and is friendly to both humans and the environment.

    Internal Plastering

  • Plastering/skimming
  • Plastering also known as skimming is the application of top coat plaster, This can be applied to many surfaces such as plasterboard, old unsmooth damaged walls to dated artex, Skimming ceilings and walls will provide you with a modern smooth fresh surface ready for painting

  • Rough and set
  • This is a term use when a base coat is applied and then a top coat is applied after. Some base coats are applied to bare brickwork where as others can be applied to existing walls

  • Dry-lining
  • Dry-lining is a term we use for fixing plaster boards to masonry back rounds using a plasterboard adhesive prior plastering, this process replaces using base coat plasters

  • Italian polished plastering

Polished plaster is a term for the finish of some plasters and for the description of new and updated forms of traditional Italian plaster finishes. The term covers a whole range of decorative plaster finishes - from the very highly polished Venetian plaster and Marmorino to the rugged look of textured polished plasters. Polished plaster itself tends to consist of slaked lime, marble dust, and/or marble chips (which give each plaster its distinctive look).

Polished plaster is mainly used internally, on walls and ceilings, to give a finish that looks like polished marble, travertine, or limestone. Such plasters are usually applied over a primer and basecoat base, from 1 to 4 layers. They are finished (burnished) with a specialised steel trowel to a smooth glass-like sheen. Polished plaster is usually sealed with a protective layer of wax
